June 18, 2013: Medicaid Expansion Passes in Michigan House; Rep. Dingell Record-Breaking Tenure Celebrated in D.C.

The proposed expansion of Medicaid to more than 400,000 individuals in Michigan passed through the Michigan House of Representatives last week, a measure supported by Governor Rick Snyder as well as the Detroit Regional Chamber. The proposal is expected to head to the Senate floor before landing on Gov. Snyder’s desk to be signed before the Legislature breaks for summer.

June 11, 2013: Mayor Archer Honored by Emperor of Japan; Don’t Miss Rockin’ at the Reserve Reception This Thursday

In recognition of his significant contribution to the strengthening ties between the U.S. and Japan, former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer has been chosen to be honored with the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Neck Ribbon, by His Imperial Majesty, the Emperor of Japan. Archer was honored in Detroit at an official conferment ceremony and celebration on June 3.
