  • Trifecta! Michigan sweeps all three ITS America Hall of Fame awards ahead of Melbourne World Congress

    The State of Michigan will be well represented at the 23rd Intelligent Transportation Society (ITS) World Congress in Melbourne, Australia, this fall. The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), State Transportation Director Kirk T. Steudle, and General Motors Corp. were announced winners in all three of the ITS Americas Hall of Fame award categories. The winners were selected by the ITS Americas Board, and the awards will be presented at the ITS World Congress Oct 10-14.

  • Legislative Update: SAVE Act Paves Way for Autonomous Vehicle Testing in Michigan

    On Aug. 31, the Michigan Senate Economic Development and International Investment Committee convened at Nexteer Automotive in Saginaw to hear testimony and consider Senate Bills 995, 996, 997 and 998. Collectively referred to as the SAVE Act, the legislation serves to update Michigan’s existing regulatory framework regarding connected and autonomous vehicle (CAV) technology development and deployment and keep the state on the leading edge of a global effort to redefine the future of transportation.
