Ford, Magna Execs to Keynote 2015 MICHauto Annual Meeting

Two leading automotive industry executives will deliver keynote remarks at the 2015 MICHauto Annual Meeting and Reception on Thursday, Jan. 8 at the Detroit Athletic Club.

Hau Thai-Tang, group vice president of global purchasing at Ford Motor Co., will highlight Ford’s award-winning supplier diversity program and some of the world-class products the company manufactures in Michigan.

Attendees will also hear from James Tobin, chief marketing officer and president of Magna Asia at Magna International Inc., who will provide insight into Magna’s economic impact in Michigan, the state’s role in the global automotive industry from a supplier perspective, and innovative solutions to the industry’s talent shortage. In addition, MICHauto will provide a brief update on its activities over the past 12 months.

Don’t Miss Chamber’s Inaugural State of the Region on Wednesday

Join over 400 business leaders on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 5 p.m. at The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit to learn how Southeast Michigan’s economy compares to the rest of the country during the Chamber’s first-ever Annual Meeting Featuring a State of the Region.

Heading into a new year, the Chamber will provide a comprehensive overview of the region’s key economic indicators related to business growth, talent, innovation and international commerce. The State of the Region will highlight the automotive, aerospace and defense, health care, transportation, distribution and logistics industries in Southeast Michigan. Attendees will also hear a briefing on the Chamber’s work over the past year in economic development, regional collaboration, education reform and membership value.

Members Show Off Chamber Pride During Appreciation Day

Nine Chamber members who posted fun, creative pictures with their membership plaque on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram took home prizes last week as part of the Chamber’s inaugural Member Appreciation Day.
