Meetings With Auto, Aerospace Execs Cap off Weeklong European Investment Mission

The Detroit Regional Chamber wrapped up a successful investment mission with Gov. Snyder and the Michigan Economic Development Corp. (MEDC) this week, meeting with more than 30 automotive, aerospace and manufacturing companies in Germany, Italy and Switzerland to promote the region’s assets and attract job-creating investment. Highlights from the trip include:

  •  Hosted one-on-one meetings with seven automotive and aerospace companies and participated in meetings with 12 manufacturing companies in Italy.
  • Attended a reception hosted by Suzan LeVine, U.S. Ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein and met with manufacturing businesses looking to expand in the U.S. market.
  • Participated in one-on-one meetings with key decision-makers for 13 manufacturing companies hosted by Gov. Snyder at Hannover Messe, the world’s largest industrial trade fair.
  • Participated in a business reception sponsored by the MEDC and state of Baden-Württemberg to meet with companies that have a manufacturing presence in the Detroit region.
  • Toured the Ronda AG watch assembly plant in Switzerland with Walter Wegmueller, honorary consul general for Switzerland in Michigan.
