Angelique Power

Angelique Power is president and chief executive officer of The Skillman Foundation and has an intense passion for catalyzing new ways of thinking about racial equity and social justice.

Prior to The Skillman Foundation, Power was president of the Chicago-based Field Foundation. During her tenure, she co-created accountability structures for the Chicago community to review the Foundation’s expanded work on racial justice and updated funding and investment policies. Under Power’s leadership, the Field Foundation doubled the size of its giving and programming.

Power co-founded Enrich Chicago, dedicated to anti-racism organizing, and helped to found Just Action, a collaborative of 200+ organizations and individuals focused on helping institutions activate their 2020 racial equity statements. She also co-conceptualized the nation’s first collaborative community workspace dedicated to social impact entitled The Impact House. Power chairs the board of 6018North and sits on the board of the Julian Grace Foundation.

Power has an MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and a bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Michigan.
