Legislator Of The Year
Each year, MichAuto recognizes a distinguished legislator for their commitment to the state’s automotive and mobility industry. 2024’s honoree is Rep. Curt VanderWall (R-Ludington), who was honored at a ceremony on the Capitol’s West Steps during the annual Automobility Day at the Capitol.
“MichAuto is proud to recognize Rep. Curt VanderWall as our 2024 Legislator of the Year. Throughout his tenure in the legislature, Curt has been a steadfast ally to Michigan’s signature industry, taking important and courageous votes in support of the SOAR Fund and distracted driving legislation.” said Paul Corbett, MichAuto’s Director of Government and Community Affairs. “More importantly, Rep. VanderWall has been a true friend, always willing to listen and work with his colleagues from both parties and stakeholders from the automotive industry for the benefit of all Michiganders.”
Past recipients of the Legislator of the Year award include: Sen. Mallory McMorrow (D-Royal Oak), Speaker Joe Tate (D-Detroit), Former Rep. Rebekah Warren (D-Ann Arbor), Sen. Steve Bieda (D-Warren), Sen. Wayne Schmidt (R-Traverse City), Sen. Ken Horn (R-Saginaw), and Sen. Mike Kowall (R-White Lake).
