The state of Michigan is getting serious about retaining STEM graduates.

It opened applications for the Michigan Mobility Fellow Program on Monday, a new initiative to support mobility innovation, talent attraction and retention by offering a $75,000 salary.

The 15-month fellowship program begins in October and runs through December 2025 and is in partnership with the Michigan Central Center for Mobility and Society, the Community Economic Development Association of Michigan and Wayne State University.

The state’s Office of Future Mobility and Electrification and the Michigan Central Center for Mobility and Society, also referred to as Michigan Central, will be covering the salaries of the 10 fellows chosen for the program.
