Dan Lauwers is Michigan’s 25th Senate District Representative, serving since 2018. He serves as Minority Vice-Chair of Energy and Environment and is a member of the Regulatory Affairs and Government Operations committees.

During his first term in the Senate, Lauwers served as chairman of the Energy and Technology Committee and vice chairman of the Insurance, Banking, and Government Operations committees. He was also a member of the Agriculture, Economic, and Small Business Development. Before joining the Senate, he served six years in the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 81st District.

Lauwers earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural economics with an emphasis on marketing from Michigan State University.
