Emettra Nelson is a student at Michigan State University (MSU) and will graduate with a bachelor’s degree in agriculture, food and natural resources education in May. She works at the Graduate School at MSU and serves as a program assistant for the MSU Summer Research Opportunities Program and Alliance for Graduate Education. Nelson coordinates these programs through recruitment and advocacy of underrepresented populations in graduate education.rnrnNelson plans to apply for graduate school, where she will pursue a doctoral degree in community sustainability. Her research interests include child development, youth and families in urban communities, and environmental and sustainable investment.
