Amy Hovey

Amy Hovey is most recently the special projects coordinator at the Charles Stewart Mott Foundation, where she worked with the community and economic development grant-making in Flint. She also leads the real estate development of two schools and a hotel in this position.rnrnBefore this position, Hovey was the district chief of staff for Rep. Dan Kildee (D-MI Fifth District), where she administered the operations of the Washington, D.C. and district offices and directly managed the programs of the programs district office. She was the co-founder, chief operating officer, and senior vice president of capacity building for Community Progress, a nonprofit created to assist communities in dealing with vacant, abandoned, and blighted properties.rnrnBefore helping launch the organization, she founded the Protogenia Group LLC in 2002, after working with the Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) for six years. She also provided support in creating the Genesee County Land Bank Authority.rnrnHovey holds a bachelor’s of arts degree from Alma College and a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Michigan-Flint.
