Brenda Jones was elected as president of the Detroit City Council in January 2014, and has been collaborating and communicating with citizens, her peers, the mayor and other branches of government, as well as the private sector, to restore respect and professional courtesy.rnrnShe began her career in public service after being elected to the council in November 2005, and was later re-elected in 2009 and 2013. Jones was appointed and has served on the Police and Fire Pension Board since 2010. She is also the chairperson of the Skilled Trades Task Force and the Military Veterans Task Force.rnrnJones earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Wayne State University.
