Faye Nelson is vice president of public affairs for DTE Energy and president of the DTE Energy Foundation. Nelson is responsible for DTE’s corporate citizenship strategy and economic development initiatives. She also leads all activities of the DTE Energy Foundation, a separate philanthropic organization funded by DTE Energy.rnrnShe formerly served as president and CEO of the nonprofit Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, the organization charged with leading the transformation of the Detroit riverfront. During Nelson’s tenure, over 3 1/2 miles of public space was developed, generating over $1 billion of public and private investment. Prior to joining the Conservancy, she served as vice president of governmental affairs for Wayne State University, where she led the development of the WSU Research and Technology Park, now known as “Tech Town.”rnrnNelson is the recipient of numerous awards and was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business as one of Metro Detroit’s Most Influential Women.
