Melissa Roy is the executive director of Advancing Macomb. She is an expert in public affairs, public policy and economic development. Most recently, she served in Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel’s office as assistant county executive from February 2011 through March 2015. Prior to that, she held numerous economic development and government relations positions with the Detroit Regional Chamber.
Roy serves on the board of the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation (SMART), Detroit Zoological Society and Detroit Public Television. She is past president of the Detroit Intermodal and Ocean Freight Association and has served on the boards for the Detroit Artists Market, Community Legal Resources and the Eight Mile Boulevard Association. She earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan.
