Stephanie Byrd

Stephanie Byrd is the co-owner of Flood’s Bar and Grille in Detroit’s Bricktown community, The Garden Theater, and The Block – a casual, gastropub-style restaurant in Midtown Detroit.

After working in marketing in Washington D.C., Byrd moved back to Detroit in 2013 to join her family’s restaurant business. In 2020, served as an active minority small business advocate for the Biden-Harris presidential campaign. Byrd was recognized in 2020 as one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s 40 Under 40, and Michigan Chronicles 40 Under 40. In February 2021, Stephanie was recognized by the Detroit Free Press and Metro Detroit Chevy Dealers as of their 12 “Food Fighters,” for her work as a founding collaborator with Too Many Cooks in the Kitchen for Good, having prepared and distributed more than 20,000 meals to Neighborhood Service Organization (NSO), Coalition of Temporary Shelter (COTS), Alternatives for Girls, and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries.

Byrd studied at Howard University where she earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and communications. She also attended Johns Hopkins University where she earned her master’s degree in communication and media studies.
