Carly Grace | Manager, Mobility Initiatives, MichAuto

MichAuto had the exciting opportunity to engage with over 850 students and educators at the Automate Conference, one of the nation’s premier events showcasing the future of automation and robotics, on May 13-15, 2025.

Hosted by the Association for Advancing Automation (A3), the conference brought together leading voices in industry, innovation, and education to highlight cutting-edge technologies. This year, MichAuto proudly partnered with A3 to help lead the Student and Educator Days, designed to spark curiosity and connect young people with the careers shaping tomorrow’s tech-driven economy.

May 13 – Square One Education Network Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge

MichAuto proudly supported partner Square One Education Network, as they hosted the Innovative Vehicle Design Challenge at the conference. Middle and high school students showcased their V2X vehicles, demonstrated technical skills, and competed in various mobility challenges.

May 14 – Educator Day

Through MichAuto’s You Drive the Future campaign, we hosted an informational table to share how this initiative reaches 80% of Gen Z across Michigan. We provided resources to help educators inspire their students to explore careers in mobility, robotics, and advanced technologies.

May 15 – Student Day

MichAuto joined A3 in leading guided Educational Tours across the show floor. These immersive experiences gave students a behind-the-scenes look at real-world robotics, AI, and smart manufacturing applications. MichAuto also made it easier for students to engage by providing transportation and lunch vouchers to remove access barriers. Students even had the opportunity to bring their resumes and connect with hiring employers on-site.

The MichAuto team continues to prioritize experiences like these for students and educators in the Detroit Region as part of the commitment to the development of Michigan’s future workforce. It is imperative that students not only see the future of mobility firsthand but also see themselves in it.
