Amidst recent threats to block the opening of the Gordie Howe International Bridge, Michigan leaders have raised concerns about the economic consequences that organizations may face if the threats turn into reality. MichAuto Executive Director, Glenn Stevens Jr. tells Axios that the bridge is important to the auto industry’s ability to ease trade and new, high-level security to the country. Stevens Jr. says, “It is a significant upgrade to the border from a security standpoint, which is paramount to this administration and all administrations.” He reassures that negotiations are part of the process, but it is important to move swiftly and with cognizance to prevent further delay.
