Since launching the MichAuto Automobility Policy Roadmap, MichAuto has been actively gathering feedback from stakeholders across Michigan’s automotive and mobility ecosystem to better understand the industry’s challenges and identify the policy solutions needed to ensure Michigan remains a global center of automotive and mobility innovation.

The effort began with a targeted stakeholder survey, which generated over 100 responses, providing valuable insights into the opportunities and challenges organizations are navigating amid the forces reshaping the industry, including global competition, the battery and propulsion transition, AI and automation, volatile trade and regulatory policy, and the speed of innovation.

Building on that input, MichAuto then engaged stakeholders from industry, labor, government, education, and economic development through a series of roundtables in Grand Rapids, Detroit, Flint, Southfield, and on Mackinac Island. These conversations created an opportunity for stakeholders to share perspectives, identify common priorities, and discuss the actions necessary to strengthen Michigan’s competitiveness for the future.

Amid these roundtable discussions, MichAuto debuted a video during MichAuto on the Island that sets the stage for a defining moment, one that calls on industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders across the state to come together, confront the challenges ahead, and chart a bold path forward, supported by MichAuto’s Automobility Policy Roadmap.

In addition to surveys and roundtables, MichAuto is currently conducting a series of one-on-one interviews with key stakeholders across sectors to gain deeper insight into the unique challenges, priorities, and opportunities facing their organizations.
