In an interview with David Cochrane and the CBC, MichAuto Executive Director, Glenn Stevens Jr. highlights the existing relationship the Detroit Region has with Canada referring to the country as friends and neighbors. The threats to the Gordie Howe International Bridge were met with frustrations on both side of the border but Stevens Jr. stresses his confidence in a resolution pleasing to both sides.

When asked about the importance of the Gordie Howe bridge compared to existing bridges in Michigan, Stevens Jr. says, “We need modernization for growth, we need a stronger trade partnership so we’re very focused on that. This will enable the industries to move better, to move faster, and the borders to be more secure.”
