Barry Melnkovic joined Amtrak as Chief Human Capital Officer in August, 2011. Reporting directly to the President and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Melnkovic is accountable for developing and executing Amtrak’s human capital and labor relations strategies aligned with Amtrak’s national mission and achievement of the company’s transformational strategic plan.rnrnHis experience includes leadership roles in Fortune 500, Fortune 1000 and Private Equity organizations.rnrnPrior to joining Amtrak, Mr. Melnkovic’s corporate roles included Vice President Human Resources at Owens Corning, Holland America Line, Motor Coach Industries and Lilly Industries. Mr. Melnkovic also served as an Officer at Cummins Engine Company and as Vice President Talent Management and Business Development in a search and consulting practice.rnrnMr. Melnkovic has been a Controller and interim COO in two Fortune 500 organizations.rnrnMr. Melnkovic graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Economics.
