Matt Elliott

Matt Elliott is a nationally recognized leader in banking, finance, and sustainability. He has held a diverse set of senior roles spanning commercial banking, capital markets, and corporate finance, including leadership positions at LaSalle Bank, the global marketing firm Project: Worldwide, and Bank of America. At Bank of America, he led commercial banking businesses across the Midwest, served as President of Bank of America Michigan, and later became the sustainability executive for commercial banking, where he helped deliver over $35B in sustainable capital and engaged over 25,000 companies on the business case for sustainability.   

Elliott now advises boards and business leaders through Blue Lake Ideas, helping organizations tackle complex challenges and spark transformation. His “Power of &” framework helps leaders and teams tame chaos, build trust, and deliver sustainable results.   

Elliott serves on the advisory board of Greenplaces, collaborating with the former Chief Sustainability Officers of Nike and General Motors to help businesses implement impactful, easy-to-use sustainability strategies. He also co-chairs Michigan State University (MSU)’s Green and White Council. 

A graduate of MSU’s Broad College of Business and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, Elliott has been honored as a top sustainability executive, chaired major civic boards such as the Detroit Regional Chamber, and partnered with companies of all sizes, including Fortune 500 companies, startups, and public institutions.
