Michael E. Porter is an economist, researcher, author, advisor, speaker and teacher. Throughout his career as a Bishop William Lawrence University professor at Harvard Business School, he has taught economic theory and strategy concepts to alleviate common challenges corporations, economies, and societies face.rnrnPorter has conducted extensive research in governments, corporations, NGOs, and academic circles around the globe and is the author of nineteen books and over 130 articles on economics and business. Together with Katherine M. Gehl he co-authored Why Competition in the Politics Industry Is Failing America: A strategy for reinvigorating our democracy, which reveals their findings and analysis on innovation to America’s divided political system.rnrnPorter earned a bachelor’s degree from Princeton University, an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, and a Ph.D. from Harvard’s Department of Economics.
