Mohammad Muntakim is a college student, community organizer, and advocate for justice.rnMuntakim serves as a co-director and a program manager of Detroit’s Muslim Youth Council with 482Forward, an education organizing network in Detroit, which he helped launch.rnAdditionally, while a student in the Detroit Public Schools Community District, Muntakim successfully led an effort to have Muslim holidays observed on its academic calendar.rnrnMuntakim graduated as a valedictorian from Cass Technical High School and is majoring in Public Health at Wayne State University. After completing his undergraduate degree, he intends to enroll in medical school to pursue a career in health care.
