Zaneta Adams

In 2006, after eight years of service in the U.S. Army, National Guard and Reserve, Zaneta Adams was medically discharged with honor. During her time in the military, Adams served as a Joint Counter Narcotics Task Force Agent for the National Guard. Prior to her gubernatorial appointment to the Michigan Veterans Affairs Agency, Adams was an attorney at Williams Hughes PLLC, assisting veterans with compensation and pension appeals.rnrnAdams has consistently demonstrated leadership through service and board membership, which includes serving as a Veterans State Contact for Senator Debbie Stabenow; an advocate and spokesperson for Challenge America, a national veteran resource nonprofit organization; and Founder of WINC: For All Women Veterans (Women Injured in Combat), an advocacy group for Michigan women veterans.rnrnAdams is an appointed member of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Sexual Assault and Harassment Prevention Workgroup. Adams was recognized as one of the 2021 Women Veteran Trailblazers by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Center for Women Veterans which honors women veteran leaders and advocates from across the United States who have made a significant impact on issues facing veterans, including education, employment, homelessness, mental health and wellness.rnrnShe holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Columbia College and Juris Doctor from Western Michigan Cooley Law School.
