According to data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, nine people are killed by distracted driving accidents in the United States every day, and taking your eyes off the road for only two seconds doubles the chance for a collision. The Kiefer Foundation is tackling the problem head on, campaigning to end distracted driving and all associated traffic deaths and injuries with its “Just Drive” initiative.

Join MICHauto on Wednesday, Aug. 25 at 11 a.m. for Town Hall: The Push to End Distracted Driving in Michigan to hear more about the Kiefer Foundation’s work and the push for hands-free driving legislation in Michigan. Hear from Steven Kiefer, chairman of the Kiefer Foundation, Rep. Mari Manoogian (D-Birmingham), and Jennifer Smith, chief executive officer and co-founder of StopDistractions.org, on why now is the time for Michigan to pass House Bills 4277, 4278, and 4279 to protect Michigan drivers. The conversation will be moderated by Glenn Stevens Jr., executive director of MICHauto.
