The one thing that is constant in our world, businesses, institutions, and lives is change. This week, the process that makes our country special and great — democracy and the right to vote — was demonstrated with civility. We will have a new administration in our nation’s capital, and we will have a change in leadership in our state House of Representatives.
Through this leadership transition and into the future, I can assure you that another thing will remain constant: MichAuto’s mission to promote, retain, and grow Michigan’s signature automotive and mobility industry as it continues to evolve.
Michigan has led the mobility and transportation world for over 120 years, and MichAuto has been the focused, unifying voice of the vast industry ecosystem since 2007.
As we enter a new administration and era of leadership, policy, and change, there are some things that we all must keep at the forefront of our thinking and actions:
- Remember to listen and be empathetic and understanding of the views and opinions of others. Embracing our differences is a key ingredient to meaningful problem-solving and collaboration – factors essential to advancing our industry forward.
- The competitive forces of technology, global trade, advanced manufacturing, and the critical need to develop, retrain, and retain our workforce at all stages is rapidly accelerating. We must act with urgency and collaboration to address them.
- Your voice and your support are appreciated and needed more than ever as we execute our mission on behalf of you, our investors, and our objectives to ensure that our voice is heard and shapes the policy and action that supports our industry, state, and country into the future.
On behalf of the entire MichAuto team, thank you for your support and commitment to our shared mission. Presidents, governors, legislators, and policies have changed many times in the history of MichAuto’s mission. They will change again, but our mission will remain constant, and we will continue shaping our industry’s vibrant future in Michigan.
