Today, the Detroit Regional Chamber welcomed Terry Rhadigan to the Chamber team as a strategic advisor. In this strategic consulting role, Rhadigan will support the Chamber’s efforts to better communicate with and serve Michigan’s corporate and automotive c-suite leaders, supporting all of the Chamber’s assets, including MichAuto and the MichAuto on the Island event – a premier gathering of statewide automotive leaders.
“As a long-time friend of the Chamber and well-respected corporate leader, Terry’s expertise in communications, public relations, and reputation with c-suite executives will be invaluable to the organization’s growth as the largest business organization in Michigan,” said Sandy K. Baruah, Chamber President and Chief Executive Officer. “The entire Chamber looks forward to welcoming Terry and embracing the fresh perspectives and insights he will contribute to the Chamber’s vision.”
“I’m excited to be part of the Chamber team and contribute to the vital work they’re doing to help Detroit and Michigan retain their rightful place as leaders of the global economy,” said Rhadigan. “I can’t wait to get started.”
Rhadigan had been a valued partner of the Chamber for many years during his distinguished career at General Motors (GM). In his many years there, he advised top leadership on corporate communications strategy and public affairs, providing trusted counsel to many of the most important business leaders in the automotive industry.
Rhadigan, as a senior representative of GM, played a leading role in launching the partnership with the Chamber to create the Chamber-led NeighborHUB grant program, which provides funding and operational support to nonprofits and small businesses in Detroit, Hamtramck, and Highland Park. Rhadigan is also a graduate of the Chamber’s Leadership Detroit program and has been a sponsor of and speaker at many Chamber events over the years.
In his career, Rhadigan served in multiple executive leadership roles at GM in the areas of communications and corporate giving and continues to hold numerous board and volunteer positions with organizations in the Detroit Region, including the Automotive Hall of Fame, Detroit Economic Club, The Parade Company, and the Detroit Sports Organizing Corporation, where he serves as Chairman.
