The Gordie Howe International Bridge has been a long-anticipated investment in the future of the Detroit. The bridge benefits both the United States and Canada, therefore with recent threats to delay the opening, leaders across every industry have raised concerns about what it means. Glenn Stevens Jr., MichAuto Executive Director, lists the three major benefits of the bridge in an interview with WJR 760AM.
“This is an investment in the future for really three things, that trade and commerce that has been going on so long, the flow of people. We have nurses and healthcare providers, first responders that cross over both ways every day to work. One of the things that’s really important, and this really is important to this administration is security. This bridge has been designed and built from the ground up to have the most high-tech information technology and advanced systems in it to secure the border and prevent anything from happening,” Stevens Jr. explains.
